Dr. Dan on Hatred 2
Dr. Dan Gottlieb has what I consider one of the most thoughtful shows around on psychological issues.
This past week, he looked at hatred and why people like to hate(Real Player format) on a sociological level:

In the latest migration to a new virtual private server, some of the links to images in the earliest posts to this blog were broken. If you encounter one of these broken links, please let me know. I have backups and can restore the images.
There’s only one person who agrees with me on everything, and, as I’m not running for office, that person is not on the ballot.

This website does not track you.
It contains no private information. It does not drop persistent cookies, does not collect data other than incoming ip addresses and page views (the internet is a public place), and certainly does not collect and sell your information to others.
Some sites that I link to may try to track you, but that's between you and them, not you and me.
I do collect statistics, but I use a simple stand-alone Wordpress plugin, not third-party services such as Google Analitics over which I have no control.
Finally, this is website is a hobby. It's a hobby in which I am deeply invested, about which I care deeply, and which has enabled me to learn a lot about computers and computing, but it is still ultimately an avocation, not a vocation; it is certainly not a money-making enterprise (unless you click the "Donate" button--go ahead, you can be the first!).

Yes, Real Player format, but his site also says that a podcast is on the way too! I’m going to keep an eye on it and see if I can download this episode later in the week.

Dr. Dan is a fascinating guy. He was rendered quadraplegic in a car wreck on the Skuykill Expressway, known locally as the “Surekill,” suffered greatly during his recovery, and somehow managed to come out with his head okay.
I do enjoy his show–it’s entertaining and educational at the same time. And when I was going through my divorce, it was most helpful in helping me understand some of the stuff that was going on around me.
And he’s not pushing any books or anything like that.
Heck, if he were looking to make money, he sure wouldn’t be on NPR.
