How I Spent My Saturday Morning 6

Remember when I got plumbed?

Today I replaced the step that the plumbers had to cut through. Six 80 pound bags of concrete mix and two heart attacks later, I’m stepped. As you can tell from the angle of the picture, I can barely lift my camera phone straight.

I’m not lifting anything else all day.

Pouring concrete is hard work

(Don’t you love where they put the clean out? I think I’ll paint it puce.)

I think it should have been to grade, I get upset when I see plumbers do that, that is just not right. I always put mine to grade, and if in a side walk it get’s a Zern Clean out with cover. But the good thing is that your sewer is flowing!

(I knew Chris would have something to say.)

To give the plumbers a little break, when they set up the clean out, all they had was a big hole in the ground and they had to guess at grade. I wish they had set it about eight inches closer to the house, but they were limited by the physical realities of the connections.

I asked him about the location of the cleanout. Do you want to know what he told me? You could get irritated.

Well I just come off of a sewer job, and man it was rooted up big time, I’m trying to save his line, and I noticed that the home is for sale. This house is in Golden Colorado and on a hill with trees like no other!

Karen, I don’t get irritated easily unless you are planning to violate the Bill of Rights (grin).

I can put up with a lot knowing that I will no longer have raw sewage bubbling up through the laundry room drain.
