Puerile Pandemic Protestors, Reprise 0

Tony Norman muses on the folks protesting following sound medical advice. Here’s a bit:

Left unexplained by Mr. Trump or his surrogates making the rounds on the Sunday news programs was why so many protesters felt the need to bring guns to protests about social distancing. Were they planning to shoot errant viruses? Why imply by the show of guns that they were ready to fight to the death if the Democratic governors insisted on trying to save their lives?

Follow the link for his answer to his (admittedly rhetorical) questions.

We live next door to a golf course. I don’t play golf (though I understand the fascination, because I’ve shot pool–both games are you against the ball). Mostly I most just point and laugh.

Florida Man also pointed, but he did it with politeness–Winchester Politeness.

The hunt for politeness continues.

Sheriff Tom Spurlock said it happened on Wednesday when three friends in their 20s were turkey hunting in Jack County. While hunting one of the men accidentally shot another friend, Spurlock said.

As I mentioned yesterday, they are “responsible gun owners” until all at once they are not.

Guns and safety just go together.

During an interview with police, Kremsner allegedly admitted picking up the victim’s 9mm handgun, pointing it at his head and pulling the trigger, believing the safety was on.

She reported accidentally firing one shot that hit Diaz in the head. Kremsner said went downstairs to look for help and call 911.

Or not.

Yet another responsible gun owner discharges his responsibility.

The Spindale (North Carolina–ed.) Police Department is continuing its investigation but say all evidence is leading investigators to believe the incident was an accidental discharge of a firearm by a family friend that resulted in the sustained injury to the child.

“He pulled the magazine or the bullets out of the gun but didn’t realize there was still one in the gun. He pulled the trigger at that point and accidentally shot the child,” Spindale Police Chief Eric Shelton said.

Aside:

If you are incapable of knowing whether your gun is loaded, you shouldn’t be playing with guns.

Yet another gun that fired itself . . . .

According to deputies, two men and a woman were in a residence when someone retrieved a gun. While the three were taking a look at the gun, deputies said the weapon went off, striking the woman.

Also, pigs, wings.

A responsible gun owner (sic) gets pantsed by his own politeness.

(New Hampshire–ed.) State police say a man suffered non-life-threatening injuries to a lower extremity when an unholstered gun tucked into the rear waistband of his pants accidentally fired early Sunday.

One cannot help wondering just precisely to which item of anatomy the euphemism, “lower extremity,” refers.

Politeness goes viral.

Police say Guillermo Alvarez, 56, was about to enter the station’s store when a man pulled up in his car to chide Alvarez about coughing without covering his mouth.

The two men got into an argument, with the driver, William Sauro, 53, briefly getting out of his car. When Sauro went to drive away, he hit Alvarez with the vehicle, police say. Alvarez then allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired at least four shots at the car. One went through the windshield.

Another customer captured the end of the altercation on video, which shows a man advancing, gun drawn, toward the reversing car.
